What is stomach cancer?

This is also known as gastric cancer and is a buildup of abnormal cells that form a mass in part of the stomach. It begins from a malignant tumor emerging from the lining of the stomach.

Stomach Cancer Symptoms

  • Heartburn
  • Nausea
  • Loss of appetite
  • Indigestion
  • Feeling of stomach bloating after food consumption
  • Vomiting
  • Blood in the stool
  • Mild anemia from weakness and fatigue
  • Weight loss
  • Discomfort in the abdomen

Stomach Cancer Causes

The exact causes for stomach cancer have not yet been determined, however some of the risk factors include:

  • Male gender
  • African American descent
  • Alcohol consumption
  • Smoking
  • Family history of stomach cancer
  • Advanced age
