What is pancreatic cancer?

A disease where malignant cells form in the tissues of the pancreas.

  • Jaundice
  • Depression
  • Unexplained weight loss
  • Fatigue
  • Pain in the abdomen and/or back

Pancreatic Cancer Causes

Although direct causes are unknown, there are several risk factors that can make a person more likely to get this disease:

  • Inherited gene mutations – some people inherit gene changes from their parents
  • Acquired gene mutations – this sometimes results from exposure to cancer-causing chemicals like those found in tobacco smoke, however often what causes these changes is unknown
