My Lung Cancer story

To all those who wish to hear my story. My name is Albert Damore and I was diagnosed with lung Cancer in early 2011. I knew something was wrong after my vision became double as I was out driving.

Scared I immediately called PCP and got a cat scan at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. There I was diagnosed with lung cancer. I was at a low point in my life, but hope was given to me when Dr. Smith referred me to Dr.Sholi at Cancer Center of Sarasota. I am very grateful to find Dr.Sholi and his kind attentive staff. Dr.Sholi recommended I started chemo right away. A week in I didn’t loose my hair, had not lost any weight as some said I would. But shortly it started to take a toll on me, as I became easily tired. Then Dr.Sholi recommended I start radiation. Through daily treatment I felt my energy was coming back, I felt strong, fearless, and ready to tackle on the world.

“The care I received at the center was catered to me; my questions and concerns were always answered. The friendly smiles soon became friends; the open arms soon became a second home. I am very thankful to have found Dr.Sholi and his amazing staff!”

I cannot stress enough how grateful I am to have found Dr.Sholi. He always answered all my questions honestly and explained in full detail my treatment and condition. I trusted him with all treatment decisions as I felt he genuinely cared about my treatment. In addition to his care, I found comfort in the nurses and medical assistants who were amazingly loving and kind, and always had snacks for me-a plus. I felt close to home at every point in my treatment. I was greeted with a smile at the front desk and welcomed with open arms.
